John Cheng

John Cheng is the Head of Development for RatPac Entertainment. John has been instrumental in the development of many of Mr. Ratner’s films including Rush Hour 1, 2, & 3, The Family Man, Red Dragon, Tower Heist and Hercules. In addition to developing these directing vehicles for Mr. Ratner, John has spearheaded the drive for RatPac Entertainment to produce films with other directors. RatPac’s diverse slate of projects reflect John’s keen eye for identifying new talent and commercially viable concepts. John was an executive producer on Relativity Media’s Mirror Mirror, directed by Tarsem Singh and starring Julia Roberts and Lily Collins, and a co-producer on New Line Cinema’s hit comedy, Horrible Bosses, directed by Seth Gordon starring Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell, Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx, and Jason Bateman (made $200 million dollars worldwide). John executive produced New Line Cinema’s Horrible Bosses 2 and produced both Barely Lethal starring Academy Award Nominee Hailee Steinfeld and Samuel L. Jackson, and True Crimes starring Jim Carrey.

John currently manages a number of film projects in various stages of development in addition to overseeing a first look producing deal with Plan B (Brad Pitt) that RatPac shares with New Regency Productions. Along with the feature slate, John is also in charge of RatPac Entertainment’s growing TV business that includes projects at all the major broadcast and cable networks and studios.

John is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.
